About us

About us (Friare Liv)

Friare Liv Consulting was founded in 1992 by Liv Larsson. Until 1999 the activities were mainly individual, group, and leadership, (among other things, UGL-courses) based on a variety of theories and methods. From 1999 onwards, we have more and more worked to teach and learn about Nonviolent Communication, because we saw the effective approach that is both for individuals (in different positions) and groups.

From 2000, we are two working in the Friare Liv Consultant (plus that we cooperate with others). Since 1997, we continued to deepen our knowledge of NVC.

Activities include now also publishing and bookstore for books on Nonviolent Communication. Publisher Operations began with no existing publishers, within a reasonable time for us to give Marshall Rosenberg's book, Nonviolent Communication language of life, in English. It was a huge number of people who participated in courses who asked for books about NVC in Swedish and therefore we decided in 2002 to publish the book in Swedish ourselvs.

October 2008 we have published 15 NVC books in Swedish including a workbook, mediation book and a childresn book by Liv Larsson and other titles by Marshall Rosenberg, Inbal Kashtan and Vilma Costetti.

November 2008 we employ Angelica Patek who will mostly work in the Stockholm area.

What people say about Kay

To make it short – he is for me one of the four trainers in whole nvc trainers community I most admire and respect for all those qualities he has!

Merike Kahju (Estonia)

I experience Kay as being a man of deep integrity, able to be honest about his feelings, emotions and confusions. Being with him certainly meets my need for connection, openness, friendliness, honesty and integrity. He is I find very skilled at being able to say “Bullshit” to people and stay in open and exploratory dialogue.

Liv Larsson

Liv Larsson is a certified trainer in NonviolentCommunication with The Center for Nonviolent Communication. Trained by Marshall Rosenberg, the founder of NVC.

Liv has worked with Communication training, team and leadership development, and mediation since 1992. Her current focus is communication, conflict management and particularly mediation. Based in Sweden she works there as well as internationally. She is the mother of Neo and author of four books on communication and mediation.
Part of her life experience, has been travelling around the world where she has met with many people from different cultures.

She says about her work with Nonviolent Communication that; "NVC contributes to personal development, and is a communication and mediation tool that influences relationships and society. I have found  an opportunity to really contribute, not only to a few individuals' quality of life, but also in a wider context. With  the NVC-process, I feel hopeful that it really is possible to create a world where what everybody needs is our guide in how to act.

Our approach to money

NVC and Money
Our consciousness in using NVC is that money is a strategy to meet needs. When we offer workshops, books, coaching, mediation etc,  we meet a variety of our own needs, including for contribution, meaning, connection, and growth. We want to also meet our need for support in our livelihood through our teaching of NVC because that way we can contribute most of our time and energy without seeking other work through which to sustain ourselves and our families. Hoping to meet these needs, we ask that each person contribute the most they can.

At the same time, we have a deep joy in and commitment to making NVC available to all people regardless of their financial means.
